Origin and use: Originally used by Lancashire and Yorkshire miners and poachers for rabbit catching it was later, and is still, used for racing in Europe.
Height: dog 47 to 56 cm, bitch 44 to 53cm
Weight: not specified
Temperament: affectionate, courageous, good with children, fast
Useful information: This dog does well in flats and town houses as long as it gets its daily walk and is given the opportunity to run freely from time to time. A balanced diet, not too starchy or liquid will ensure that it does not have stomach problems. The coat needs daily brushing with a soft brush and polishing with a chamois.
