Origin and use: From Malta and the Mediterranean these dogs were ladies' pets.
Height: dog 21 to 25 cm, bitch 20 to 23 cm
Weight: both sexes 2 to 3 kg
Temperament: intelligent, lively, affectionate, good with children
Useful information: Maltese have a very “high maintenance“ coat and a considerable amount of time must be spent on grooming this dog. The eyes tend to weep from time to time. The ears should be cleaned regularly.
