IRISH TERRIER

Origin and use: The ‘Red Devil’ comes from the area around Cork and Ballymena in Ireland and was once used as a combatant in dogfights.
Height: both sexes approximately 45 cm
Weight: dog approximately 12 kg, bitch approximately 11 kg
Temperament: good tempered, active, daredevil, affectionate, excellent guard dog
Useful information: As a house pet it should be given plenty of exercise. Brush the coat daily to prevent matting of the undercoat. Nails must be cut regularly. Grooming is as for Wire haired Fox Terries.
