CHIHUAHUA

Origin and use: Short- and long-coated companion dogs from Mexico, believed to be the smallest dogs in the world.
Height: both sexes: 16 to 18 cm.
Weight: both sexes: 1 to 2.75 kg.
Temperament: intelligent, inquisitive, affectionate, courageous.
Useful information: Easy as it is to carry, the Chihuahua needs a good bit of exercise so encourage it to walk on its own. They are not comfortable with strangers. Feed it lightly and check its teeth regularly for tartar deposits and brush them occasionally. Have a vet check the teeth at least twice a year. Their eyes are susceptible to drying of the cornea.
