BOXER

Origin and use: Originally from Bavaria, Germany, this bear and boar hunting dog was also used as a cattle herder.
Height: dog 56 to 63 cm, bitch 53 to 59 cm
Weight: dog about 30 kg, bitch about 28 kg.
Temperament: affectionate, lively, pugnacious, kind with children
Useful information: Easy to groom. A daily brushing and occasional bath are sufficient. Watch for lumps or large pimples on the skin while brushing and do not hesitate to consult a veterinarian if these are found as they may be malignant and have to be removed at an early stage.
